Prince of Wales Go Through After Tough Encounter
St James Hotel tasted their first defeat of the season yesterday after a 3-1 score line in favour of the visitors. It was a good quality match throughout and was well contested by two teams who currently top their respective divisions.
When Prince of Wales took the lead through a penalty after 10 minutes, it looked like the James were in for a tough morning. But they battled back well and had the better of the first half. The score was level around the half hour when Andy Williams guided a superb looping header from around 16 yards out into the opposite top corner of the net. This sparked Prince of Wales into action and just before half time they put together a nice passing move which resulted in a smart finish to make it 2-1. Again much of the second half was an even contest with both sides creating chances however it was to be the away side’s quality in front of goal that was to prove the difference. A third goal was added midway through he second half which sealed the victory and progression through too the next round of the intermediate knockout shield.
Next up for St James Hotel is a trip to Gloucester to face Robinhood who sit 3rd from bottom of the equivalent league in Gloucester.
