Rich Turner Undergoes Emergency Surgery

Hero Rich Turner has suffered major arm injuries due to the accident that happened in the game against Gaffers Sunday last weekend. The injuries look to keep him off the field for around 4 months, but he has suggested that he may be retiring from Sunday League as a result. He will be missed.

Rich commented on the St James website:

"I think this may be a bad post for some to read but here goes. following my freak accident at sundays game i went to a&e to find out i had dislocated my entire wrist (8 bones) and broken one of the two main bones in my arm as well as tearing most of my ligaments. i went under the knife for emergency surgery at just after 8pm sunday night. a few steel rods & wires later and it was over. now comes 12 weeks of being in a cast followed b phsyiotherapy. therefore lads i think most of you guys need not read much more but most of you guys must know how how this kills me to say it but i have kicked my last ball in sunday football. i will still show everyone as much support i can for the remainder of the season cause i am still a st james player and will remain so for a long as i you guys want me. first let me say thank you to all that i have played with throughout my time with the team. thanks to martin bick 4 putting up with my occaisional outbursts. last but not least thanks to all that have kicked me, spat at me , threatened me , and just generally been so kind when playing against me in the sunday league. i will miss you all ha ha ha. at least my last kick of the ball was to score that penalty & nobody can take that away from me. now go win that leaue st james cause i still got a ood left hand i can slap you guy into shape with."
